Serdiana, just behind Cagliari and its gulf, is an ancient and special land where vineyards grow sinking their roots between sand and stones, caressed by sea breezes and the scent of myrtle and wild rosemary. Here Argiolas has been producing high quality wines for almost a century, ever since the founder, Antonio Argiolas, began planting the first of a series of vineyards that gave rise to one of Sardinia's most famous and prestigious wineries. A family business that, in its third generation, never ceases to amaze us with its wines, all aimed at enhancing the typical grapes of these lands. The Vermentino di Sardegna Costamolino, once uncorked, with its fragrant fruity aromas immediately makes us think of summer and lunches by the sea under a pergola; a fresh, clean wine that brings cheerfulness and goes well with fish dishes or first courses with vegetables.

Clear and bright straw colour, it smells of jasmine, white peach and lime, aromatic herbs, salty and iodine hints. The palate immediately reveals a good balance between a slight caloric vein and fine acidity, it is delicately savoury with a discreet citrus finish.

Excellent as an aperitif, it goes well with a seafood salad, spaghetti with clams and a mixed grill of fish and shellfish.

The Winery

Argiolas is absolutely one of the most important wineries in Sardinia: located not far from Cagliari, specifically in Serdiana, it has been in operation since 1906 and unifies almost 250 hectares of land. Skilfully run by the family of the same name, the winery owes its birth to the figure of Antonio Argiolas, the winery's founder; it is thanks to his far-sightedness that, over the years, the estate has grown, expanded and set the conditions for Giacomo Tachis to be called upon to collaborate on the creation of a project that marked the birth of a legendary wine, Turriga. Today, Argiolas is a reality capable of guaranteeing a range at the highest qualitative levels, contributing concretely to the prestige that Sardinian wines are displaying before the world, a qualitative constancy that goes hand in hand with a production that exceeds 2 million bottles per year and allows for total market coverage. From Costamolino to Cannonau, via the traditional Monica, the wines of the Argiolas house amaze and enchant for their goodness.
