IT'S HIM!
Coordinating the rows of vines that overlook the hills around the marvellous city of Verona is not easy: the annual production is very high and combining important numbers with quality is a job for professionals. Fulminato was created for an all-round clientele and, for this reason, takes care of both quality and image, favouring a label with a high visual impact, one of those that when you look at it you think 'there he is! When you uncork it, you grasp the essence of what moves the threads of this reality: the continuous search for a wine that respects and honours the Veronese tradition, praising what is one of the most appreciated and coveted wines in the world, for over 20 years, Amarone!
Impenetrable and compact ruby red in colour, the nose has an unmistakable fruity impact of black cherry jam and currants, then anise, liquorice and dried flowers, chocolate liqueur and mentholated balsamic puffs. Generous and elegant on the palate, warm and structured, enhanced by a dense and harmonious tannic texture, it has a long finish played on toastiness.
With a roast or a stew of beef, but also with polenta and trimmings.
The Winery
The Cantina di Negrar was founded on 23 August 1933, when six local men decided to unite in a cooperative society to defend the territory from speculative investments, choosing to reach the consumer directly through a product bottled in full respect of the local winemaking tradition. The headquarters was at Villa Mosconi, in Arbizzano di Negrar, and the success was so striking, right from the start, that the winery received a special mention diploma in 1935 at the Universal Exhibition in Brussels. In 1936, the first Amarone was born, after tasting a Recioto wine accidentally left to ferment for a long time and, in 1948, the Cantina Sociale Valpolicella moved to San Vito di Negrar, merging with the Cantina Produttori della Valpolicella; In 1957, the Cantina was refounded, with 80 members, in Negrar, in what is still its headquarters today, pursuing a quality project aimed at identifying some of the most vocated areas of Valpolicella from which, with intense work alongside the winegrowers, grapes of extraordinary quality are obtained. Even today, after 80 years of history and success, the mission has never changed: to design the future with a view to sustainability and respect for traditions and the territory.
