The Caparzo winery, as usual, presents products that, while respecting the vintage of origin, always show themselves to be territorial, of great class and of valuable gustative cleanliness. From 1968 to the present, Elisabetta Gnudi's goal has always been to produce wines that can read and interpret a unique territory such as Montalcino, standing out for quality in a market, already quite busy in itself.Caparzo's Brunello di Montalcino is an unbeatable cadet in terms of price, quality and aging capacity, irrefutable proof that to drink well, you don't need to put money in your wallet!

Bright ruby with a shaded rim, it has a nose of rose, violet, cherry and raspberry, tobacco, earth and balsamic cues. Great quality on the palate too: savory, full-bodied and with refined tannin. Lingering.

With pappardelle with hare ragout, with larded rabbit, with roast suckling pig and with game in salmi.

The Winery

Founded in 1970, Caparzo represents one of the first 12 historic wineries in Montalcino, and is among those that contributed most to the creation of the Brunello myth. The origin of the name is uncertain. For some it seems to derive from "Caput Arsum," or sunny knoll; for others from "Ca' Pazzo," as evidenced by some ancient maps. In 1998 it was bought by Elisabetta Gnudi Angelini, and from that moment the Caparzo winery underwent a radical change: it was equipped with a new aging cellar, completely underground and among the most technological in the area; the vineyards were replanted and, thanks to other acquisitions, it went from the initial 46 hectares under vine to the current 81, of which 28 are dedicated to the production of Brunello and 18 to Rosso di Montalcino. The vineyards are located in the locality of the same name, within the municipality of Montalcino, lying along a hilly area, at heights varying between 220 and 270 meters above sea level. The soils on which they are farmed vary in nature: some are of schist-clay formation, while others are rich in skeleton. Caparzo is an ever-growing company that uses the most modern technology to get the most from nature without resorting to chemistry and carries out an activity that aims to obtain products that are always at the top of quality, achieved with meticulous, artisanal production techniques, but nevertheless reveals a modern mentality in management. On a daily basis, innovative breeding systems are experimented with and different clonal selections are tested in the estate's soils. In addition, the winery is equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation to monitor the ripeness of the grapes and all the various stages of vinification and maturation. Elisabetta Gnudi Angelini's goal has always been to produce wines that can read and interpret a unique terroir such as that of Montalcino. Her il Brunello is an unbeatable product in terms of price and quality, summing up in itself all the characteristics that make it one of the most appreciated wines in the world, able to age even over 30 years.
