Don Geppino cruschi peppers are Senise IGP peppers ready to eat, fried in our extra virgin olive oil. Peppers cruschi are so called because of the crunchiness of their flesh, which is achieved by drying the berries in the sun between August and October.
They are identified as Peperoni di Senise IGP only when the production. specifications are respected, that is, by growing the peppers in the countryside of Senise, in Basilicata, and following certain production and packaging rules.
Peppers from Senise become cruschi by frying them in boiling extra virgin olive oil and adding salt, and this is also the easiest way to eat them. The red color and very chili pepper-like appearance might be confusing, but instead they are sweet and very tasty.
