Why it’s so delicious?

This Grappa has been patiently stored in the Distillery's underground cellars in small oak barrels.

Grappa from pomace with a complex and aristocratic aroma from the San Guido estate, Bolgheri (Tuscany), steam distilled in small batches, kept in the 225-liter oak barrels in which Sassicaia wine was previously aged.

Raw material: grape pomace from Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes for Sassicaia wine

Distillation: artisanal, in small batches, using a copper still with discontinuous-cycle steam boilers

Aroma: wood, vanilla, cocoa, coffee, licorice.

Taste: complex, structured, majestic

Neat

I've never been a big fan of sipping spirits neat. I'm more of a mixed drink type of guy. However, I was very pleasantly surprised with my first glass of Sassicaia. The nose has a great smokiness to it that's complemented by the vanilla tones from the oak aging.

I'm a big fan of the entire Sassicaia family, so I was excited to try this. And, it didn't disappoint. This is a fantastic grappa, with a complex flavor profile and beautiful golden color. I would happily put this in my Top 5 favorite grappas list.

I'm a California girl (born and raised) and I don't know much about Grappa. But I do know what I like, and Grappa Sassicaia is one of the best things I've ever had!

Got this for my father in law who is a sommelier and he said it was the best grappa he ever had. The box itself is nice too, really beautiful.
