INTENSE AND DELICATE LIKE A WOMAN
Anthìlia was the first wine produced by Donnafugata and is characterized by the beautiful label that depicts the elusive and mysterious face of a woman, with long hair blown by the wind; it owes its name to the ancient city of Entella, a fortress overlooking the Mediterranean Sea in the heart of Sicily, positioned so strategically that it was subjugated, in ancient times, first by the Greeks and later by the Romans and Arabs. A wine produced from an equal blend of two indigenous grapes, Ansonica and Catarratto, it expresses a precise personality linked to very sweet and elegant fruity sensations.

Straw yellow in color with a pleasant floral and fruity olfactory impact against a mineral and brackish background, it denounces on the palate a perfectly balanced fullness and freshness, has character, savoriness and a tasty almondy trail.

On smoked fish dishes, anchovies crustaceans and pasta dishes also baked. With eggplant roulades and with mussels au gratin.

The Winery

To speak of Donnafugata, is to speak of wine Sicily, in the sense that this winery represents a true flagship of the entire Trinacria region.

The winery was founded in the 1980s, when Giacomo Rallo kicked off what represents the renaissance not only of the province of Trapani and the Marsala area, but probably of all of Southern Italy, together with his wife Gabriella, the author and inspirer of the revolutionary labels.
