A CONCENTRATE OF SICILY
Considered by some scholars as the oldest Sicilian native, fragrant on the nose, balanced and harmonious on the palate, Insolia or Ansonica, is a grape variety also widespread on the Tyrrhenian coast and on the islands of the Tuscan archipelago, generating wines with a Mediterranean character, harmonious, sunny, savory and slightly aromatic. The version from the Principi di Butera winery stands out for the intensity and finesse of its bouquet, which is particularly enveloping and soft. After fermentation in steel, the wine is aged for 6 months on the noble lees to enrich the structure and depth of aromas. A perfect label to reserve for the most informal moments and to spend in good company.

It presents itself with an eye-catching golden straw yellow color, shiny, with slight greenish reflections. Sweet notes of exotic fruit and scents of broom delight the nose. The sip is endowed with an evident fresh verve, making the drink beyond smooth and pleasant, marked on the finish by the energetic aroma of sweet almond.

A white that is truly a friend of the table and can accompany various dishes and ingredients: if you love fried fish, then you'll be on the safe side!

The Winery

In the most austere and profound Sicily lies an oasis of rare beauty, home to the great indigenous grape varieties of Sicily and the land of choice for Nero d'Avola.

The estate extends around an ancient baglio that once belonged to the Princes of Butera, in one of the island's most mineral-rich areas, a stone's throw from the Mediterranean coast, between the Valley of the Temples and Piazza Armerina. The variety and biological heritage of the soils, combined with the particularity of a microclimate that benefits from sea breezes, make these ancient lands, the ideal place for sustainable viticulture and a unique reserve of biodiversity.

Amidst the colors of citrus fruits and the scents of the Mediterranean scrub, elegant wines are born, with refined fragrances and endowed with great intensity and freshness.

The experience
Principi di Butera represents a new gateway to a Sicily waiting to be explored, rich in artistic and natural wonders. A visit to the estate becomes a journey within a journey, which is undertaken once you take the avenue of oleanders that bounds the vineyards, dominated by the historic baglio that towers over the hillock in front.

The tour starts right from the vineyards, the first step for the visitor to discover the native Sicilian varieties: the tale will reveal the difference in vine training, which exposures are selected according to the different grape varieties. A full immersion that continues in the underground cellar, there where they refine the wines of the property.

We will then reach the historic part consisting of the Baglio (the name that defined the fortified farm with a large courtyard that has existed here since the 16th century) and from there we will be able to embrace the entire estate, admiring it in its extension as a peaceful, lush and intoxicating oasis.

After the toast with Neroluce, the experience will continue in the guest quarters, with the tasting of the other two native wines, pairing them with some equally typical flavors, starting with the Principi di Butera oil.
