A luminous and highly pleasing rosé, Lumera is a skillful blend of Syrah, Nero d'Avola, Pinot Noir and Tannat, vinified in such a way as to bring out the best of the fruity and floral nuances of the grapes from the younger vineyards. The name is evocative because it is inspired by the woman who arouses joy and vital fullness, the protagonist of an ancient Sicilian poem celebrating courtly love and the Dolce Stil Novo; a perfect wine for all occasions, complex, structured and completely different from the type of rosé we are used to.
With a raspberry pink color of great luminosity and excellent transparency, it offers pleasant notes of pomegranate and currant, against a background of wild strawberries and cyclamen. In the mouth it is pleasant and well balanced between fresh acidity and pleasant savoriness, caressed by a softness that makes the whole harmonious.
From aperitif to light lunch, this wine will impress with swordfish rolls as with eggplant flan.
The Winery
To speak of Donnafugata, is to speak of wine Sicily, in the sense that this winery represents a true flagship of the entire Trinacria region.
The winery was founded in the 1980s, when Giacomo Rallo kicked off what represents the renaissance not only of the province of Trapani and the Marsala area, but probably of all of Southern Italy, together with his wife Gabriella, the author and inspirer of the revolutionary labels.
