Why it’s so delicious?
Biscotti di Prato - also commonly known as cantucci or almond cantuccini - are part of the Tuscan confectionery tradition that sees them as the perfect end to a meal in combination with Vinsanto.
For the LIMITED EDITION X GUCCI OSTERIA the icon of Tuscan tradition, whose story begins in 1858, meets the eclectic world of Gucci. A special edition in collaboration with Gucci Osteria, these artisanal biscuits are a unique product born from the combination of the contemporary and playful vision of Gucci Osteria Firenze's Co-Executive Chefs Karime Lopez and Takahiko Kondo and the experience and passion of Antonio Mattei. Together they have recreated a special version of the typical Prato biscuits, with salted caramelised almonds.
Prepared with just five simple ingredients: flour, sugar, free-range eggs, salted caramelised almonds and Cervia sea salt, they contain no preservatives, animal fat or vegetable fat.
History
Since 1858 our biscuits have been baked daily and packed one by one by hand in the classic Blu Mattei bag.
Biscuit tins are traditionally used for better preservation of biscuits; The biscuit factory has been offering them since the last century, not only for storing biscuits, but also as reusable containers.
This biscuit tin is the second one conceived and designed by Simone Massoni, a talented Florentine illustrator together with his wife Ilaria Falorsi, and represents the magic of museums, shows the curious expressions of customers portrayed in our small Bottega Museum in Florence, a beautiful city for relics, legends and fantasy.
