Within the municipality of Valdobbiadene there is a particularly precious hilly area known as 'Cartizze': a small strip of land with an ancient charm, where time seems to have stood still and the rows of vines follow one after the other, covering the hillside. A veritable Grand Cru, with its own appellation, Cartizze is acclaimed for its particular exposure and the minerality of the subsoil, a combination of factors that results in rounder, particularly turgid grapes with a perfect sugar content. For this reason, the harvest is carried out strictly by hand, so as not to spoil even a nuance of this precious raw material.
Bright straw yellow in colour, it displays a mantle of very fine and persistent bubbles that are an invitation to drink. The aromas exalt all the characteristics of an excellent Prosecco: tropical fruit, fruit salad and hazelnuts, then acacia flowers and light herbs. On the palate, the typical softness of Cartizze is compensated by freshness, standing out for its remarkable creamy density, giving a naturally sweet and harmonious taste.
It can also be drunk alone, for pure hedonistic pleasure, but finds a perfect match with small dry pastries.
The Winery
A historic winery in Valdobbiadene, Bortolomiol is among the names that have contributed most to the enhancement of the area and is considered one of the oldest, most historic and influential in the entire denomination.
